The Arc of Southwest Washington maintains a visible presence in Cowlitz County through Sally Bartlett, the Cowlitz County Coordinator. Sally is the mother of two children, Robbie and Katie. Katie, 9 years old, experiences Down syndrome. Sally has been active in the community with regard to disability-related issues, including participating in the Project Hope group which partnered with Life Works to develop a sensory gym housed at Life Works and brought the “Lose the Training Wheels” bike clinic to Longview; partnering with St. John Medical Center to help bring Project SEARCH to our community; advocating for appropriate and inclusive education; and serving on Cowlitz County’s Developmental Disability Advisory Board.
